My love story with weddings begins in 2016 in Malaysia, when I received an invitation for my first Indian wedding. Obviously to fully embrace the occasion, I had to buy my very first lehenga. From the family inclusive ceremonies to vivid colors and fragrant flowers, every moment was astonishing. Inspired by the beauty and the experience of that day, I knew in my heart that I wanted to become an Indian wedding planner.

With full dedication, I dove into the world of Indian weddings. I joined a leading Indian wedding planning company and worked on beautiful weddings from India to destinations all around the globe. The more I learned about the traditions, the more my passion for cultural celebrations grew. My journey then led me back to Malaysia, where I took on a new role as a wedding specialist at a five star hotel. This is where I fell for Chinese weddings — the tea ceremony, the traditional games, and the way tradition and Western elements came together so naturally. By then I was certain: I wanted to become a multicultural wedding planner.

After moving back, I stepped into the world of event management, working with startups and corporates at the leading Dutch tech incubator. It turned out to be an incredibly inspiring environment: full of entrepreneurship, and filled with people building innovations that genuinely change the world. The entrepreneurial energy around me sparked something: it inspired me to start my own company, DEWE Weddings Events. A company with two hearts — creating weddings across Indian, Chinese, Western cultures and beyond, and supporting innovation by producing events that grow a company's reach and help startups in the Dutch ecosystem scale toward growth.
